High pressure just offshore the North Carolina coast will bring much warmer southwesterly winds to the area on Wednesday. Afternoon highs will reach the middle to upper 80s except middle to upper 70s on the beaches. Skies will remain mostly sunny throughout the day. Some communities may hit 90° by Thursday afternoon. A weak cold front will drop into the area on Friday and Saturday bringing slightly cooler temperatures and the risk for a few showers.
