High pressure will continue to build into eastern Carolina overnight. Chilly temperatures can be expected as overnight lows bottom out in the lower 40s inland and near 50° along the beaches. Sunny skies with afternoon highs in the lower 70s can be expected on Tuesday. Much warmer air will arrive on Wednesday and last through the upcoming weekend. Some inland communities will be near 90° both Thursday and Friday. There will be little or no chance for rain through Friday.
