Sunny And Hot On Friday Across Eastern Carolina

High pressure will continue to dominate the weather across eastern Carolina on Friday. Skies will be mostly sunny with highs near 90°. The beaches will be sunny with highs in the upper 80s. Winds will be light southwesterly through the day.

A cold front will approach the area by late Friday night and Saturday causing an increase in cloud cover and shower activity. In fact, the front will stall across the area by Saturday afternoon into Sunday causing numerous showers and thunderstorms. Some of the rainfall over the weekend could be locally heavy. One to 2 inches is likely with locally heavier amounts. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s Saturday and middle 80s on Sunday.
