A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of eastern Carolina except Carteret, Onslow, and Duplin counties from 6pm Thursday through 4am Friday. Light freezing rain and sleet will be possible.
As the cold front of Sunday continues to move off shore, Monday will end under mostly sunny skies. High pressure will build in behind the front, keeping us dry on Monday. Temperatures won't be nearly as warm, as a light northwesterly breeze brings cooler air over the region. Expect highs in the mid to upper 50s.
A weak cold front will move through Monday night bringing clouds with just a few cold raindrops late Monday night into early Tuesday morning.
Skies go back to sunny Tuesday afternoon with low to mid 50s for highs. Similar conditions are likely for the first day of 2014 with lots of sunshine and highs in the mid 50s Wednesday afternoon.
