High pressure moved off the coast Tuesday allowing southwesterly winds to bring warmer air into the area. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 50s to lower 60s under mostly sunny skies.
A dry cold front will sweep through eastern Carolina Tuesday night followed by cooler air on Wednesday with highs peaking around 48°. Dry conditions are expected to continue through the end of the week.
Much warmer air will arrive by Friday and the weekend, with our next rain chance coming late Sunday into Monday. Weekend highs will run well above normal, reaching the low 70s both Saturday and Sunday.
