Strong Winds Impacting Eastern Carolina

Winds continue to gust higher than 25 mph for the majority of eastern Carolina through Saturday. The coastal waters and the sounds will get sustained winds of 25 to 35 knots, with gusts reaching up to 45 knots.

Threats
Winds: Strong winds in excess of 35mph throughout the evening. Sustained 15 to 25 mph winds possible all day on Saturday.

Fire danger: A special weather statement has been issued for Nash, Edgecombe, Wilson, and Wayne. Humidity levels will drop to below 30%, and these dry conditions combined with strong winds drastically increases fire danger.
