Temperatures will remain well above normal today. Afternoon highs will reach the middle to upper 80s except the upper 70s along the beaches. A weakening cold front will drop southward from Virginia enhancing the threat of afternoon thunderstorms.
The front will remain nearly stationary over eastern Carolina and Virginia over the weekend giving eastern Carolina a 40% to 50% threat of showers and storms each day. Weekend highs will average in the lower 80s during the afternoons and lower 60s at night.
