Morning Showers, Mild Sunday

Most of the area awoke to the sight of wet roads and grass. A few showers made their way across eastern Carolina, but the forecast for the afternoon is calling for dry conditions and warmer temperatures. Highs today will be about 5° to 10° warmer than Saturday and in the low 50s. Cloud cover will work back into the area this evening before temperatures tumble into Monday morning.

The workweek will start with a chill with morning temperatures in the mid 20s followed by highs in the upper 40s. A shifting jet stream brings in another round of warm weather the remainder of the week.

The next significant rain system won't develop until late in the workweek on Friday. Until then, temperatures the middle part of the week will be above average and in the low/mid 50s.
