Slowly Drying Out On Wednesday Across Eastern North Carolina

Showers and some isolated thunderstorms dotted the landscape of eastern North Carolina Tuesday afternoon. Most communities received about one-quarter to one-half inch of rain. There will be additional showers overnight before a cold front pushes through the area and off the coast Wednesday morning. Wednesday will be a day of transition as drier air slowly filters into the region. A morning shower, especially near the coast, will give way to some afternoon sunshine with highs in the lower 80s. We may see a stray shower on Thursday afternoon but generally dry conditions will be the rule through the upcoming weekend. Highs will be around 80° or the lower 80s.
