A strong cold front approaching Eastern Carolina brought numerous showers and thunderstorms Tuesday.

There were several tornado warnings reported earlier Tuesday, but those have all expired. There were a couple of reports of trees down, but no serious reports of damage.

The showers and storms will gradually taper off by Wednesday as skies begin to clear. Dry and mild conditions can be expected during the latter portion of the week.
