Scattered Showers for Eastern Carolina

Most of the storms on the radar are currently well below severe weather thresholds, but their movement to the southwest could make for some decent rainfall totals (0.50"-1.00"). Some of these storms may have a couple lightning strikes, but the overall trend has been garden variety rainmakers and not thunderstorms.

Heaviest showers are mainly east of 17 extending along a line from northern Bertie county southwest through southern Duplin county. West of 17 will remain mostly dry this afternoon, but parts of Pitt , Martin and eastern Lenoir counties may receive a quick shower.

At this time, widespread severe weather is not anticipated, but we will continue to monitor the situation.
