More showers will be moving into eastern Carolina on Friday. A stationary front to our south will retreat northward on Friday afternoon and evening keeping it cloudy with scattered showers.
The showers will become heavier and more widespread by Friday night and Saturday with significant rainfall expected across the entire area. 1 to 2 inches of rain looks like a good bet through the day Saturday. Thunderstorms are unlikely with only a stray rumble of thunder possible. Highs will stay in the 70s both Friday and Saturday.
