A area of low pressure off the Carolina coast will continue to bring a moist northeasterly flow into the region. It will produce mostly cloudy skies with the risk of a few showers through Wednesday, especially near the coast. Afternoon highs will hit the lower 70s on Wednesday afternoon. Similar temperatures can be expected on Thursday although sky conditions will gradually become partly sunny.
The offshore storm will produce a high threat of rip currents north of Cape Hatteras through Wednesday night. The surf will remain rough through the end of the week. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for much of the coastal area through Friday.
