Record Heat And Drought Continues In Midwest

Extreme heat and drought is continuing across much of the Midwest. Water temperatures in Lake Michigan have reached 82°, which hasn't been seen at least for 30 to 40 years. Fish kills because of the warm water have been reported in Michigan, Missouri, Iowa and Minnesota. Crops are wilting in the scorching heat, which has reached 110° across Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. Portions of Nebraska and Missouri have seen highs around 105°. Little rain has fallen over the past two months and not much is expected over the next 5 to 7 days.
