A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of eastern Carolina except Carteret, Onslow, and Duplin counties through 4am Friday. Light freezing rain and sleet will be possible.
Typically our afternoon highs should be in mid to upper 60s in late March. We'll fall well short of that the next few days.
Afternoon highs will run about 20 degrees below normal through Wednesday with highs generally in the mid to upper 40s. Skies will be sunny on Monday and Wednesday with cold rain likely on Tuesday.
A coastal storm will bring cold raindrops to the area from mid morning Tuesday though the evening hours. There remains a slim chance of a few snowflakes at the onset Tuesday morning. If any snowflakes do fall it would be well inland and short lived with no accumulations.
We'll start to warm up on Thursday with highs reaching the upper 50s. By Friday temps will reach near 70 degree with a chance for a few showers.
