A winter storm warning is in effect today for Beaufort, Dare, mainland Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell and Washington counties. A winter storm advisory is in effect today for the rest of Eastern Carolina. The threats are snow, sleet and freezing rain.
Mostly sunny skies will cover most of eastern Carolina on Monday. Temperatures, however, will feel more like mid December than early November with northeast winds capping the afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
High pressure will slide offshore by late Tuesday with warmer temps to follow. After mid 60s Tuesday, highs will reach the low to mid 70s both Wednesday and Thursday.
A cold front will approach the area late Thursday bringing a rain chance to the area by Thursday afternoon. Dry, but cooler air will return on Friday and stick around through the weekend.
