Dupiln, Greene, Lenoir, Martin and Pitt counties will be under a freezing rain advisory from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday. Beaufort, Craven, Jones and Washington counties will be under the advisory from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Patchy fog will hug parts of eastern Carolina through the morning hours. Otherwise, the big story will be a nice warm-up into the low 50s. Winds will be weak from the SW at 2-5 mph this afternoon.
A cold front will approach that area tonight and into tomorrow bringing rain chances and cooler temperatures. The best chance of rain will be in the overnight hours and into the early morning on Tuesday. Wind will strengthen and shift to the north with the passing cold front. Expect much cooler, mid 40 temperatures in the forecast the second half of the workweek.
