ROAD CONDITIONS: Storm Damage And Flooding Caused Problems In Several Counties

Roads in several counties were closed because of high water and possible tornado damage.


BEAUFORT COUNTY:

The 900 block of East 8th Street in Washington was closed due to high water.

There were also reports of high water on 12th Street between Market and Bonner, 16th Street and Van Norden in Washington.


CARTERET COUNTY:

Several roads were blocked off because of possible tornado damage, including Little Kinston Road, West Firetower Road and Russell Lane.


CRAVEN COUNTY:

There were reports of flooding on North Craven Street. Front Street at Union Point Park, which is prone to flooding during storms, had high water on it.


DUPLIN COUNTY:

SR-1501 was closed Wednesday afternoon in both directions east of Kenansville because of flooding.


JONES COUNTY:

There were reports of high water near roads in Jones County, near the high school on Highway 58.


ONSLOW COUNTY:

SR-1428 was closed in both directions in Onslow County northeast of Jacksonville because of a tree in the road.
