Seasonable weather conditions will continue across eastern Carolina on Wednesday. Inland communities will reach the middle to upper 70s under partly sunny skies. Temperatures along the beaches will be close to 70 degrees during the afternoon.
A strong surge of warm air will move into the area on Thursday and Friday. Afternoon highs will be well into the 80s to near 90 degrees both days with dry conditions expected to continue. It's been a while since the thermometers have reached 90. Greenville last reached 90 or better on August 13th of 2013 when the high reached 91 degrees.
Our next chance for showers and storms will arrive by Sunday into Monday, with muggy mid 80s on tap for Mother's Day.
