NWS Confirms Lenoir County Funnel Cloud Caught On Camera

The National Weather Service confirms it was a funnel cloud caught on camera by WITN viewer James Burrows in Kinston in Lenoir County near the Minges bottling plant just before 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. It never touched down, so it was not a tornado.

There have been multiple reports of funnel clouds along the leading edge of the storm that rolled through the east. Viewers also sent in photos of funnel clouds from Beaufort and Edgecombe counties.

There are no reports of damage from the funnel clouds.
