Little change in the weather pattern is expected across eastern Carolina through Wednesday. A stationary front will remain across the area overnight into Wednesday afternoon. The front combined with warm, moist and unstable air will set the stage for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the rainfall will be locally heavy. The front will begin to dissipate by Thursday as high pressure builds into the area. Some drying will occur as the high pressure begins to dominate our weather pattern. By Thursday and Friday we'll see more sunshine with highs in the lower 90s. Only widely scattered storms are likely by the end of the week.
