Clouds and showers are in the forecast for eastern Carolina on Saturday. A slow moving cold front combined with warm and unstable air will generate shower and thunderstorm activity across the area, especially during the afternoon and evening. A few strong storms are possible along with locally heavy rainfall. The front will weaken but stall just to our west on Sunday keeping a threat of a few storms. Drier air will gradually encompass the region Sunday night into Monday.

Highs over the weekend will average in the middle to upper 80s but will be dependent on the amount of sunshine during the midday hours. The beaches will see a mixture of clouds and sun with a few showers and storms both Saturday and Sunday Highs will be in the middle 80s.
