A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7am on Saturday for Beaufort, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Outer Banks Dare, Tyrrell, Washington and western Dare County. The threats are black ice and slick roadways.
Scattered showers will dot the radar image on Monday and Tuesday before slowly decreasing just in time for next weekend. The rain chances are set at 40% for the start of the work week before decreasing as high pressure builds in the region by Wednesday. A chance of a few stray afternoon storms will stick with us until Saturday as temperatures climb back in to the upper 80s and low 90s. Heat index levels will also rise, going from the low to mid 90s for the beginning of the week and finishing in the 100s. Summer is making come back.
