A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of eastern Carolina except Carteret, Onslow, and Duplin counties from 6pm Thursday through 4am Friday. Light freezing rain and sleet will be possible.
A frontal system combined with moist air produced scattered showers across eastern Carolina on Monday. The front will be slow to move out so more showers can be expected on Tuesday. Temperatures will remain mild with afternoon highs in the lower to middle 70s. Drier air will slowly filter into the area by midweek with a diminished chance for rain. The latter portion of the week looks warm with highs near 80°.
