Hot and humid air will dominate the weather pattern across eastern North Carolina through Tuesday. Afternoon highs will hit the lower to middle 90s inland and upper 80s on the beaches. The high relative humidity will make it feel like 100°. Only isolated afternoon thunderstorms are likely to develop. It appears the stagnant weather pattern will hold into Thursday before a cold front brings a good chance for showers late in the week.
