A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7am on Saturday for Beaufort, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Outer Banks Dare, Tyrrell, Washington and western Dare County. The threats are black ice and slick roadways.
More scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible across eastern Carolina Thursday morning right through the evening hours. Gusty winds, heavy rain and lightning will accompany any storms. The increased cloud cover should keep the highs in the upper 80s.
More scattered showers and storms can be expected for Friday and that should again keep temperatures in the upper 80s in most locations.
More sunshine with a few storms will be on tap for the weekend with highs in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees.
