A stagnant weather pattern will continue across eastern Carolina for the next couple of days. Highs on Friday will top out near 90° inland with middle to upper 80s on the beaches. The atmosphere is unstable and there will be a 30% risk of thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. Much of the same can be expected Saturday. A strong cold front will sweep the moisture off the coast and bring cooler and drier air by late in the weekend or early next week.
