A stationary front across southern North Carolina will move rapidly to the north overnight. Fog developed over much of the area during the evening with the visibility less than a mile in some locations. The fog will move away quickly by Wednesday morning as the front begins moving northward as a warm front. Skies will remain mostly cloudy on Wednesday as highs approach 70°. There will be a few showers as a cold front approaches from the west but rainfall is not expected to be heavy. A more significant storm system will likely spread rain across the area by Thursday afternoon and evening as temperatures fall into the 50s for highs.
