Monday may break temperature records for heat, but once the afternoon heat up has passed, we'll see conditions change. Clouds will cover the sky and bring rain to our northern communities late Monday. That rain will hover over those northern areas through Tuesday before extending down and sending showers to the rest of eastern Carolina. We'll dry out Thursday just in time for the weekend, which should feature sunny skies and highs near 60°.
