Extreme Heat To Blanket Midwest And East On Independence Day

It will be a hot Independence Day across much of the eastern and central United States. Afternoon highs will reach the 90s to lower 100s across much of the Midwest and along the East Coast from New York southward. Heat indices will reach 100° to 110° across the entire area. There will be little relief except for afternoon and evening thunderstorms. The heat and high relative humidity levels will last through the weekend in most locations.
