Cooler June Unusual, Good For Utility Bills

After a warmer than usual winter, some people in the east were expecting a warmer summer as well.

So far things have been pretty mild. The cooler weather may be a drag for some, but it's great for their utility bills. Greenville Resident Randy Driggers said they've been saving between $150 - $175 a month on their bill.

"It's not as hot as it normally would be this time of year. That's another additional benefit, and of course having storm doors, insulation that sort of thing, in your home, can make a huge difference in your total bill," Driggers

The relief from the heat is coming to an end soon. Meteorologist Greg Armbrecht says expect 90 degree temperatures by Wednesday.

Meteorologist Jim Howard says normal for this time in June in the east is about 86 degrees, and we're only slightly below it this year. He says that's actually pretty rare because the last few years have been way above normal.
