A slow moving cold front will become stationary across eastern Carolina on Tuesday bringing clouds and cooler temperatures, especially across the north. The best chance for showers will occur north and west of our area but all areas have a 20% to 30% risk of getting some rain. Temperatures will range from the lower 50s along the Virginia border to the upper 60s in southern communities near Jacksonville and Morehead City. The front will push back northward on Wednesday allowing temperatures to soar into the lower 70s. A stronger cold front will push into the area by Thursday causing some rain and cooler temperatures.
