Cold Front And Showers Tonight

A strong cold front will move through eastern Carolina this evening. Scattered showers and a few storms will be possible as the front comes through tonight. There is a slim chance at a severe storm between 10pm and 2am with the primary threat being wind gusts over 50 mph. The fast movement of the showers should limit rain totals to 0.5 to 1.00".

The winter season arrives tomorrow along with the chillier airmass. The front will race off the coast by sunrise Friday, with gusty west winds moving in behind it. Air temps will struggle to get over 50° with the winds gusting to near 30 mph making it feel like the 40s throughout the day, despite sunny skies.

Skies will stay sunny through the weekend, but we'll stay chilly with lows around 30° and highs around 50°.
