The coastal storm responsible for the heavy rain and winds of the last couple of days will drift slowly northeast of the area on Friday. The system will move slowly with clouds persisting across the area.
Periods of light rain and drizzle will continue across portions of the area during the day but measurable amounts will be light. Winds will blow from the northwest at 7 to 15 mph.
By the weekend the storm will be slowly pulling away from the east coast. Skies will stay mostly cloudy through the weekend although a few peaks of sunshine are likely. Some spotty light showers could develop but most locations should remain dry. Highs will reach the lower to middle 70s.
