Warm But A Storm Threat Late Friday Across Eastern North Carolina

A warm Friday is on tap for Eastern Carolina, with temperatures into the upper 80s.

But a cold front is headed our way, and that could bring showers and thunderstorms to the area late in the day or night.

The National Weather Service (SPC) has put Eastern Carolina in a slight risk for severe weather. That means some of the storms could become severe during the late afternoon and evening, producing strong winds and some hail.

The rain should not be widespread, with only an estimated 40% to 50% of the area likely to experience any activity.

The storms are expected to come between 5:00 and midnight.
