A winter storm warning is in effect today for Beaufort, Dare, mainland Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell and Washington counties. A winter storm advisory is in effect today for the rest of Eastern Carolina. The threats are snow, sleet and freezing rain.
A high pressure system just to our north will keep our skies mostly sunny and our temps in the 70s on Sunday. The high pressure will slowly move northeast throughout the day, leading to increasing evening clouds with a chance of rain for Monday morning. Despite the oncoming rain, the end of the weekend will see the mercury rise to the upper 70s for much of eastern Carolina.
