Steady Rain Ending, On and Off Showers This Afternoon

After 2 hours of persistent rain, showers are beginning to lighten in intensity across eastern Carolina. Despite the short lull, scattered, on and off showers will be in the forecast throughout the rest of the day and into the evening hours. The rain won't completely let up until Sunday afternoon.

Total rainfall will likely exceed one inch across much of the area. The rain will finally end late Saturday night or early Sunday followed by some clearing. Highs will reach the 50s Saturday and near 60° on Sunday.

Dry weather will be brief as another storm system is likely to bring rain by Monday evening.
