How does First Alert Desktop work?

The Desktop Alert control panel sits directly on your computer desktop. To Minimize the window, just click on the X in the upper right corner. The current temperature will be displayed in your Windows task bar.

During severe weather warnings or late breaking news, you will receive a text crawl directly on your computer. The crawl is preceded by an audible alert sound, to bring attention to your computer.

All you need is an Internet connection. No web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape is required to receive the benefits of First Alert Desktop.
