Warm Spell Likely Into Next Week
A surge of warm air will continue to invade Eastern North Carolina well into next week. Reporter: Marvin Daugherty |

Warm conditions will continue to settle into our area for the next few days and will remain well into next week. Temperatures for the first week of October have averaged about 3° below normal but a major warm spell will more than balance out the coolness by the middle of the month. Temperatures reached the lower 80s on Thursday afternoon before a few scattered showers dropped readings into the 70s by late in the day. There will be a few showers around the area until Saturday morning, but by late afternoon clearing should take place. Sunday into the middle of next week will see generally sunny skies and highs reaching the lower to middle 80s. There will be little chance for rain after the showers end on Saturday morning.
