The National Hurricane Center has classified a disturbance in the Atlantic Ocean as Tropical Depression #8.

Forecasters expect the depression to strengthen to a tropical storm Thursday. If it does so, the storm will be named Hannah.

TD #8 currently has sustained winds of 35 mph. It is expected to pass well north of the Leeward Islands. It's not clear yet if the storm could impact the U.S.
