Out-of-control wildfires continued along California’s central coast Friday, endangering a total of more than 4,500 homes. Wind gusts in excess of 40 mph raged out-of-control in portions of Santa Barbara County. Hundreds of firefighters were in place around hundreds of structures in that area. Two major wildfires near the coast are still less than 10 percent contained. The constant heat reaching well into the 90s coupled with gusty winds will likely generate additional problems through the weekend. No rain is in sight for the area.
