Eastern North Carolina has had its share of severe weather this spring and another round is possible on Tuesday. A strong cold front will approach the area late Tuesday. Warm southwesterly winds will take temperatures into the lower to middle 80s on Tuesday afternoon as the front gets close to the area. A line of strong to severe thunderstorms could develop as the front inches closer. Large hail and damaging wind gusts will be the main concern for any storms that do develop. The most likely time for severe weather would be during the afternoon and early evening hours. The threat should diminish rapidly during the evening. Dry conditions and somewhat cooler weather will return during Wednesday. For now it appears the Memorial Day Weekend will be sunny and pleasant.
