There will be risk of strong to severe thunderstorms over much of Eastern North Carolina until 4:00 am Saturday morning. The greatest risk will be for quarter size hail and winds of 60 mph or more in the stronger cells. The activity should begin to taper off by 3:00 to 4:00 am.
Skies should begin to clear by sunrise with a few areas of patchy fog. Saturday should turn out partly sunny with highs near 80 degrees inland and 70s on the beaches.
