Virginia officials said more than 200 people were injured as severe storms swept across the southeastern part of the state Monday. At least 200 people were injured in Suffolk, Virginia when a tornado destroyed several homes and businesses. The storm hit the 138-bed Sentara Obici Hospital although the facility was still operational and accepting patients late Monday. Another possible tornado struck Colonial Heights, near Richmond, injuring at least 18 people. Virginia's governor declared a state of emergency as the storms moved northeastward through the state.
