Storms Hit Texas

A severe thunderstorm system that may have included several tornadoes hammered parts of west and north Texas, destroying or damaging more than a dozen homes near Fort Worth. No injuries were immediately reported from the storms, which brought heavy rain, winds up to 70 mph and baseball-size hail in some counties. Winds were measured at 115 mph near Crowley, Texas where National Weather Service officials have labeled the storm as a tornado. Other possible tornadoes occurred during the night damaging roofs and knocking down power lines in several areas.
