Another Day Of Rain

A slow moving area of low pressure just off the North Carolina coast kept cloudy skies and showers across Eastern North Carolina on Tuesday. Coastal areas have received the most rainfall with some areas approaching five inches by the afternoon. The heavy rain is largely over but a few additional showers can be expected on Wednesday. Clearing skies and warmer conditions will encompass the region on Thursday and Friday. Three-day rainfall totals as of late Tuesday afternoon include the following:

Harkers Island - 4.33"
Manteo - 3.78"
Ahoskie - 2.32"
Elizabeth City - 2.09"
Washington - 1.68"
Greenville - 1.48"
New Bern - 1.41"
Rocky Mount - 1.16"
Lake Mattamuskeet - 1.03"
Jacksonville - 0.91"
Kinston - 0.50"
