A pair of tornadoes struck suburban Washington on Sunday,knocking over some trees and stripping siding off several homes. The first tornado hit St. Charles, Maryland around 2:00 pm, which is located 30 miles south of the city. The storm uprooted trees causing them to fall on cars and home. The strongest wind from that storm was around 80 mph. A second storm hit Hyattsville, Maryland, which is about 10 miles northeast of the city. Winds peaked at about 100 mph as that storm moved through the area at 2:30 pm. A school was hit tearing off a portion of the roof and flinging it on other debris into the parking lot.
