It's sunny and warm now, but last weeks heavy rain is causing some minor flooding. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Neuse River at Kinston.
For the Neuse River at Kinston, flood stage is at 14 feet, The river is now at 13.8 feet and is expected to crest just above flood stage at 14.1 feet late Friday and Saturday.
At this level, only minor flooding is forecast in low-lying areas adjacent to the river. No homes or roads are expected to see flooding.
Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for late Saturday, but rainfall amounts should generally be light.
