Around 3:30 this morning, the National Weather Services issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Lenoir County.
A half hour later, that's when this weak tornado made its way through the area. The National Weather Service told Lenoir County Emergency Management, they noticed some rotation on the radar, but it didn't indicate a tornado, so there was no warning issued.
It was only until daybreak when they could surveyed the damage, that forecasters could see the twisted trees and concentrated debris field.
That helped them determine if it was a tornado and it's path.
