The Storm Prediction Center has indicated that much of Eastern North Carolina is under a slight risk of severe weather on Saturday. A low pressure accompanied by a cold front will create unstable conditions across the area during Saturday. Clusters of thunderstorms are likely to form in portions of the area by Saturday morning and could reoccur even later in the day or evening. Tornado watches were in effect early Friday evening over portions of South Carolina and Georgia and some watches may be extended into North Carolina on Saturday morning. There is a potential for damaging winds and an isolated tornado could accompany a severe thunderstorm. Continue to monitor weather conditions throughout Saturday and stay tuned to WITN-TV for the latest updates.
